How to Use
Select a metro area from the dropdown in the top-left corner.
Search by zip code or click directly on the map to select a neighborhood.
Use the swipe handle in the center to compare the two accessibility maps side by side.
What You Are Seeing
Each colored area on the map is a Census Block Group (CBG) — a small geographic unit used by the U.S. Census Bureau, typically containing 600–3,000 people.
Colors represent metro-wide percentile ranks from red (low access) through white to green (high access).
Two Accessibility Metrics
Distance Accessibility — measures how close residents are to public charging stations. A higher percentile means shorter distances to chargers compared to other block groups in the metro.
Visit Accessibility — measures how often residents encounter public chargers during their daily routines, based on anonymized mobility data. A higher percentile means residents are more likely to pass by charging stations in their regular activities.
Station Details
When you select a block group, the panel shows the closest charging station (with distance) and the most-visited station (with visit share and nearby points of interest).
